CIPS Survey

Owing to the success of our team woking on Lot "A" of the BTC Pipeline, we have now been awarded a CIPS Survey for Lot "B". This section is 465 KM long and runs through the Eastern Mountains of Turkey close to the Ciites of Erzerum, Erzincan and Sivas. Our Multi national team are working 7 days a week to meet the clients objective, which is completion before the Winter snow arrive. To date we have completed over 150 KM in 10 days and expect to complete in a further 20 days

CIPS Survey

We are completing a CIPS Survey to 278 km of the Baku-Tiblisi-Ceyan pipeline in Turkey for the operating company. This work is ongoing and data is being regularly collected at a rate of 10-15 KM per day. This survey is being scheduled for completion before mid October as the winter weather conditions in the region will prevent access to the high altitude areas of the route after this date.

This survey records Pipeline "ON" and "OFF" potentials at regular intervals of 1 metre which are achieved by the installation of our CATH_TECH GPS synchronised current interrupters at the Transformer Rectifiers on a cycle of 0.8 seconds "ON" and 0.2 seconds "OFF". Readings are recorded along the pipeline route with our own HEXCORDER Graphica instrument which gives full synchronisation via the GPS network with the interruption cycle of the current interrupters. A second HEXCORDER is installed as a Static Logger to correlate any stray current interference found on the pipeline.

Cathodic protection

Since 2003, Cath-Tech International Ltd have been awarded contracts to maintain the CP system on a major Water Pipeline network in Turkey.

The major components of the network are:

1. An Earth Fill Dam and Associated Reservoir
2. A Raw Water Pipeline
3. A Water Treatment Plant
4. Trunk mains and branch lines built in both carbon steel and ductile iron
5. 6 Pump Stations
6. Several New and Existing Storage Reservoirs.

The contract awarded to Cath-Tech International Ltd falls into 4 distinct categories

1. The completion of annual audits to the CP system and reporting on the findings.
2. CIPS Surveys
3. The monthly review of data collected by the clients own staff and reporting.
4. Assistance, where required, with special projects in the provision of specialised labour, materials and equipment.
